Millets Halwa recipe:



*Ingredients:*


- 1 cup mixed millets (ragi, bajra, jowar, or any combination)

- 2 cups water

- 1 cup ghee

- 1 cup sugar (or jaggery)

- 1/2 cup grated coconut

- 1/4 teaspoon cardamom powder

- 1/4 teaspoon saffron threads (optional)

- Chopped nuts (cashews, almonds) for garnish



*Instructions:*


1. Rinse and soak the millets for 30 minutes. Drain and cook with 2 cups water until tender.

2. Mash cooked millets into a smooth paste.

3. Heat ghee in a pan and sauté grated coconut until lightly browned.

4. Add sugar (or jaggery) and cook until dissolved.

5. Add mashed millet paste, cardamom powder, and saffron threads (if using).

6. Cook on low heat, stirring constantly, until mixture thickens (about 15-20 minutes).

7. Garnish with chopped nuts.

1. Add dried fruits (cranberries, raisins) for extra flavor.

2. Use different sweeteners (honey, maple syrup).

3. Add a pinch of salt to balance sweetness.

4. Flavor with rosewater or kewra essence.
